The AVI-G 1-place oxygen bottle pulse-demand system is for experimental, certified Part 23 aircraft, and glider aircraft, and includes the HealthView and AHV avionics and the main oxygen bottle as selectable variants.
The AVI the is first installed smart oxygen system integrated with avionics, the HealthView, iOS, and the Aithre suite of health technology products, delivering smart pulsed oxygen based on factors such as pressure altitude, respiration rate, oximetry, heart rate, and carbon monoxide.
SYSTEM OVERVIEW
The AVI system is a complete kit for health and hypoxia management in light aircraft. The system includes the AVI control unit, HealthView and AHV avionics display, Illyrian oximeter, Aithre Boom Cannula or Nasal Pillow Mask, Shield carbon monoxide detector, bottles, plumbing, ports, mounts, and more.
HEALTHVIEW AND AHV AVIONICS
The HealthView is the first dedicated avionics system that both controls oxygen delivery and outputs health information, including gauges for blood oxygen, heart rate, respiration rate, flow rate, cabin pressure, cabin temperature, carbon monoxide, and oxygen bottle pressure. The HealthView is the behind-the-panel data bridge and the AHV is the avionics display.
The HealthView data bridge is compatible with all Aithre devices, including the Shield series of carbon monoxide detectors, the Illyrian oximeter, the Meso oxygen pressure, the Metis wingtip temperature/dewpoint sensor, and the AVI and Turbo oxygen systems.
The HealthView relays controls to the AVI system with dedicated serial communication, including pulse dosage based on pressure altitude. For advanced users, the HealthView provides an auto mode functionality that automatically turns the oxygen on and off on a station-by-station basis, using parameters of pressure altitude, SPO2, heart rate, and carbon monoxide.
The HealthView III data bridge is included with the system. The HealthView III includes an embedded Shield carbon monoxide detector, hardwired Illyrian connections for wired blood oxygen monitoring, and improved industry standard DSUB connectors.
The AHV avionics displays provide for user facing data output of biometric health information and user control of the oxygen. The AHV is a multi-function instrument that is low profile with high visibility graphics and tactile input controls. The AHV displays are available for standard 2 1/4" or 3 1/8" diameter cutouts or using a camera-style 1/4 stud mount for off-panel mounting.
The AHV avionics displays feature over 60 customizable health fields across 9 pages with per station control of oxygen dosing. Declutter functions enable only the pages and health fields that are appropriate for the number of passengers and Aithre devices detected.
The AHV avionics displays are modular and can be optionally expanded with the Air Avionics AT-1 model transceiver for dual HealthView and COM radio functionality.
OXYGEN DELIVERY
Each station includes an independent pulse circuit. Simply activate the system with the O2 panel button and breathe while monitoring the flow and delivery in the AHV avionics display. The AVI adjusts dosage automatically based on pressure altitude and provides for further user customization.
The pulse system is the first ever to detect breathing based on flow instead of pressure. This technology provides enhanced inhalation detection combined with real-time flow rate detection and accurate respiration rate feedback.
To provide smoother oxygen delivery, the AVI delivers each pulse of oxygen as a series of micro bursts with each inhalation. The micro bursts start immediately upon inhalation and extend over the first critical portion of the inhalation cycle. The number and spacing of the microbursts are adjusted in real-time and customized for each inhalation based on respiration length and pressure altitude.
ALTUS WIRELESS PRESSURE GAUGE
The AVI includes the Aithre Altus Meso bottle pressure gauge, which allows for oxygen bottle PSI monitoring on the AHV while the bottle is out of reach.
ILLYRIAN OXIMETERS
The AVI system includes one Illyrian II oximeter for pilot. The Illyrian wearable oximeter provides continuous SPO2 and heart rate information to the HealthView III via dedicated micro-USB ports for power and hardwired data communication.
AITHRE BOOM CANNULAS
While the AVI system includes silicone cannulas for each station, the AVI system additionally includes either an Aithre Boom Cannula or an Aithre Nasal Pillow Mask to make oxygen delivery more comfortable.
The Aithre Boom Cannulas feature a low-profile aluminum anodized swivel adapter and an articulating boom arm, making oxygen delivery as easy and convenient as talking on the microphone. When not in use, the boom arm can be pushed or swiveled up and out of the way. The consumable boom arm, nasal piece, and tubing can be affordably recharged with consumable replacements after extended periods of use.
The Nasal Pillow Mask is a hybrid mask and cannula that rests comfortably on the nose to seal the nasal passages while keeping the mouth unobstructed for communication and speech. The Nasal Pillow Mask has been demonstrated by Aithre and customers in the field to improve the efficiency of oxygen delivery and boost saturation levels over the Boom Cannula and the silicone cannulas alike.
AITHRE SHIELD CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR
No oxygen system is complete without the Aithre Shield carbon monoxide detector, so the AVI system includes CO monitoring standard. The HealthView III includes the Shield technology, The Shield CO detectors offer a superior 10 year no recalibration service life with sensitivity below 10 ppm and responsiveness of under 60 seconds.
BACKUP COMPOSITE BOTTLE
The AVI system includes a standalone 47L carbon fiber composite bottle with a fixed flow regulator that outputs approximately 0.5 LPM for 2 hrs. This handheld bottle is designed to supply a simple independent flow of oxygen for pilot use in the event of any AVI failure or main bottle leakage. The standalone 47L bottle can be stowed and secured in a flight bag or seat back pocket for additional peace of mind during flight.
