John Zimmerman has been a long proponent of carbon monoxide detectors ever since he suffered from exposure during a flight. While he has used the brand that he credits to alerting him of the exposure, John has made the switch to the Aithre Shield 4.0 due in large part to the iOS app features. Specifically, the trend data and customizable Siri alerts most impressed. He correctly noted that the Shield will talk to you via your headset to relay carbon monoxide thresholds being crossed.
